Gythion-Lakonia is situated at the eastern border of Peloponnese. Gythio is build at the foot of Larysion mountain and is facing the bay of Lakonia. In this region are located the Elaionas Studios.

In the small island Kranai opposite of the city, Helen of Troy and Paris spent their first common night after the kidnap from Sparti.

Gythio was an important commercial port for the Phoenicians. Later, the Spartans used it as their naval port.

The ELAIONAS STUDIOS are situated 2,5 km from Gytheio and 800m from the beach Selinitsa, built recently on a hill with nice view to Mani, the Laconic gulf and the mountains Taygetos and Parnon, even to the islands Elafonisos and Kythira. Elaionas Studios is the ideal place for accommodation in Gytheio and Mani.
